International Midsummer Conference 19-22 June 2011
309 participants from 36 countries and all continents travelled to Aarhus to take part in Next Library. Next Library 2011 thereby broke all previous records for international library conferences in Aarhus, measured by number of participants, number of represented countries as well as in terms of number of events and (total) duration.
Conference content
The themes: Democracy, innovation and partnerships developed in a comprehensive programme which included a large number of workshops, presentations and study tours. The informal part of the programme included e.g. a networking dinner and a get2gether event.
Organisers and cooperation partners
Next Library 2011 was organised by Aarhus Public Libraries in cooperation with sponsors and the cooperation partners: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Danish Agency for Culture, BCI - Lammhults Biblioteksdesign A/S, schmidt / hammer / lassen / architechts, Axiell, Rambøll, BTJ, The Danish Library Association, the Nordic library associations as well as the Nordic Halmstad group.
